As part of the 2026 Small Business Training Week activities, senior leaders from the Department of War Office of Industrial Base Growth (IBG) visited Red Bison Services, a Louisiana APEX Accelerator client, to observe firsthand the impact that government contracting assistance programs can have on small business growth and industrial base development.

The visit included Mr. James R. Mismash who serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Industrial Base Growth and Director of Small Business Programs (OSBP) and Mr. Khalil Mack Deputy Director and their staff members, who toured Red Bison Services' operations and met with company leadership to discuss the firm's growth, capabilities, and continued success in the federal marketplace.

Red Bison Services provides construction, facility support, and related services to federal, commercial, and industrial clients throughout the region. The company has experienced significant growth through its strategic pursuit of government contracting opportunities and its ongoing partnership with Louisiana APEX Accelerators.

During the visit, Department of War officials learned how technical assistance, strategic counseling, and government contracting resources have helped Red Bison strengthen its competitive position and expand its federal contracting portfolio.

"Red Bison's success story demonstrates the important role small businesses play in supporting our nation's industrial base," said Department of War representatives during the visit. "Their growth reflects the power of entrepreneurship, perseverance, and effective collaboration between government support organizations and industry."

The company's recent achievements further highlight its success. Red Bison Services was recognized as the Louisiana APEX Accelerator's 2025 Government Contractor of the Year and was also named the 2025 Louisiana SBA Small Business Person of the Year, two prestigious honors that recognize exceptional business growth, leadership, and contributions to the small business community.

Louisiana APEX Accelerators, which provide no-cost government contracting assistance to Louisiana businesses, have worked closely with Red Bison Services to help identify opportunities, strengthen contracting capabilities, and support long-term growth strategies.
